Villa Casenovole

Villa Casenovole lies in the authentic pristine Maremma, an area of Tuscany on the border between the provinces of Siena and Grosseto, 350 m above sea level, in a lovely panoramic hillside location. The original part of the villa dates back to the 1300s, and was part of the castle of Casenovole, while its expansion was commissioned in the 1970s. All the bedrooms have air conditioning and private bathroom while the large, professionally-equipped kitchen is decorated with 17th century Neapolitan tiles. Outside, in the vast park, the fully-equipped patio, the large holm oaks providing shade for hammocks and living areas, and the beautiful large infinity pool, all allow you to fully enjoy the beauty of the surrounding nature, enlivened by patches of woodland and by the vineyards of the property. In the vicinity are many specialised wineries producing Brunello and many wonderful borghi of eternal charm such as Montalcino, Pienza, San Gimignano, Montepulciano. These localities can all be quickly reached along splendid panoramic roads.

Every morning the staff prepare a full English breakfast and tidy up the villa. On request it is possible to use the laundry service. N.B. The friendly helpful staff live in the annex and take professional care of the villa for the exclusive use of the guests present.

The splendid nature of the Tuscan Maremma forms the backdrop to Villa Casenovole, between the towns of Siena and Grosseto. The property is located near the stream of Le Caldanelle, rich in thermal (hot) springs. The whole area of the Val di Farma, which stretches along the river Farma and consists of numerous protected sites and nature reserves of significant fauna and vegetation, is in fact characterised by sulphurous thermal springs, the most famous being theTerme di Petriolo with the spa offering numerous services, just 15 minutes from the villa. Although located in an area of great naturalistic importance, the property is easily reached via fast roads from both the north and the south. It represents the ideal starting point for following food and wine itineraries along the wine roads. About 70 km from the property is the splendid Tuscan coast and Monte Argentario. In the nearby village of Pari, about 4 km away, are grocery shops, bars and typical restaurants, while 20 minutes away is the 18-hole golf course of Bagnaia.

Exterior

The 1.5 hectare park is surrounded by a 1.80 high fence. In front of the villa is a spacious patio with large holm oaks that provide shade for the hammocks, allowing you to relax in the fresh air. Two large umbrellas on the patio provide shade for the outdoor dining area. Under the portico are a barbecue and a large wood oven. In the park is a bowls court, available to guests. The property has an automatic access gate and a parking area under the shade of holm oaks.

From the garden in front of the villa a flight of steps leads to the infinity pool: a natural scenic terrace overlooking an expanse of vineyards. The rectangular pool, measuring 7 x 17 m with the depth varying from 0.90 to 1.50 m, has salt purification and is lined internally with tiles and bordered by stone paving. The surrounding solarium area is equipped with chaises longues, small tables and umbrellas. On request (at an additional cost), it is possible to heat the pool; furthermore the cover allows conservation of the water temperature during the night. The pool is open from the last Saturday of April to the first Saturday of October.

Interior

The villa has two floors connected by an internal staircase. The entrance opens into the living room with glass doors, a working fireplace (from September to April) and the kitchen with direct outside exit. Next to the service door of the kitchen is a guest bathroom and a family room with sofa and TV.

On the first floor is a corridor leading to four double bedrooms with private bathroom with tub (with shower head) and one double bedroom with private bathoorm with shower. The master bedroom has independent entrance (reachable from the external stairs).
