In a beautiful position in the south, the Villa is near the coast on the gulf of Syracuse, facing the famous ancient Greek Theatre, and with views to the sea. The villa also benefits from a large (4000m2) classically designed Italian garden, as well as a swimming pool (12 x 7m) surrounded by laurel trees, jacaranda, pomegranates, and lemon trees. The lawn and the tall trees surrounding the villa offer shade for guests, and the perfect place to relax on a hot day. This part of Italy has much to offer visitors, including a long and fascinating history and an archeological zone. The ancient Greek Theatre, within walking distance of the villa, is one of the largest in Italy, and offers an annual season of ancient Greek drama (the season starts at the end of May and finishes at the end of July). Another famous site to visit is the Ear of Dionysus (a limestone cave carved out of the Temenites hill), just 1.3 kms away. Those who love islands and nightlife will enjoy the beautiful nearby island of Ortigia, linked to the mainland of Sicily by a short bridge. As well as retaining traces of its ancient Greek and medieval past, the island offers enticing restaurants and boutique shopping  The town of Noto is also close by for those interested in exploring typical Sicilian Baroque architecture
