Radda in Chianti

Radda in Chianti is a beautiful medieval town enclosed in large defensive walls. Located up on a hill between the valleys of Arbia and Pesa, it has ancient origins. Inhabited since the 9th century, Radda was officially mentioned in a document from 1002. Its stone facades adds to the medieval look characterized by narrow streets and tower buildings.

It’s a particularly good choice for two couples travelling together because the pair of spacious double bedrooms, both with ensuite bathrooms, are positioned on the ground and second floor, offering a degree of privacy. You even get a balcony each – one on the first floor, the other off the second-floor bedroom. Both come with a simply gorgeous view of the surrounding vineyards and the hills beyond. Villa Vanessa is in a small hamlet less then 2kms from Radda in Chianti. The villa is set in well groomed gardens and a small olive grove with a 5X10m swimming pool. The owners who live in a separate villa on the same property are discreet but very helpful and friendly. In Radda there is an excellent delicatessen, a co-op supermarket, post office and several small restaurants.
